Weapons Formed Against Us
Our Lord is a mighty fortress.
One of the best decisions I made this week was to just give up.
I’ve been in crisis management mode for months - stopping up a dam with a toothpick with one hand and delivering punches and kicks to all of my other assailants with the rest of my limbs. There comes a time when even the best of us are going to need a rest or risk total collapse.
Before the tiny wooden sliver in my hand buckled under the pressure and just before my worn knuckles delivered the last blow I realized I was going about my battles the wrong way. My challenges were never about me and it was high time I got out of the way so that the big guns could come on the scene.
I remembered the promises that The Most High made to his servants and said to Him, Holy Abba I invite you in to help us.
As usual, right on time and in spectacular fashion everything we needed showed up and every weapon coming against us stood down. If we pray for order, peace and restoration, we will certainly receive it. The Most High says in Jeremiah 29:11,
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
We often find that we are no match for our troubles, but the victory lies in this - our troubles are no match for our Heavenly Father. He remains a fortress, a bulwark, a high tower - for those who serve Him.
All praise, glory and honor to The Most High.
